Explore Boston

Most Boston hotels sit in Back Bay, Downtown, and the Seaport, all within a few miles of each other. Whether you're here for a Red Sox game, a Celtics or Bruins night at TD Garden, or a college visit, you'll find a compact city with the subway (the T) and Logan International (BOS) close by.

The 2.5-mile Freedom Trail links 16 historic sites, from Boston Common and the Old State House to Paul Revere's House in the North End, where cannoli and red-sauce Italian restaurants line Hanover Street. Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market sit steps from the waterfront.

Across the Charles River, Cambridge offers Harvard Square and MIT, a short Red Line ride from downtown. In the other direction, the Seaport has become Boston's newest district, with harbor views, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and the convention center.

Getting around

  • Logan International (BOS) connects to South Station on the free SL1 Silver Line bus, or to downtown on the Blue Line via airport shuttle.
  • The T's subway lines reach almost everywhere visitors go; downtown, Back Bay, and Beacon Hill are very walkable.
  • For Red Sox games, take the Green Line to Kenmore; TD Garden sits right above North Station.
  • Driving and parking downtown are expensive, and most visitors are better off without a car.
